On the Air - 602
One of the greatest benefits of 21st century technology infused classrooms, is the integration of authentic audiences.  Launching a student-led radio station has enabled our students to reach listeners worldwide with “live, local” shows produced solely by students.  Podcasting empowers students to innovatively craft their own digital learning experiences through independent and collaborative discovery and creation, while addressing the new media, speaking and listening, research, and writing standards.  Imagine broadcasting live through automation and streaming- always on the air.  No streaming servers to support or drain on facility bandwidth, which is a concern in most school corporations.  All that is required is a Mac and an Internet connection.  Is your vision to empower students to innovatively craft their own digital learning experiences through discovery and creation?

Will it Result in Mayhem - 504
Classroom iPads will only work as a teaching tool if you set them up as one from the very beginning. Kids have to know what is expected upfront and it will make independent use, much easier as the year progresses. Some might say, I can't give my kids iPads because no one will stay on the app I assigned. It gets so loud that you can't get any small group work done. That app is to hard for my kids, they aren't capable of doing that. I would love the chance to show you how I manage what others think will only result in mayhem!.
