Universal Design for Learning is an educational practice that can reach all the students in the classroom.  It takes a curriculum makes it flexible enough to accommodate all students, even those in the margin.    When you think about it, the average individual is a myth, so UDL makes provisions for learners of most all abilities and learning styles.  In this way, there is no time wasted in retro-fitting a static or inflexible curriculum.  UDL uses brain-based principals that facilitate the abilities of students ranging from Struggling Learners, to English as a Second Language Learners to Gifted Learners.
