Are your students tired of answering tired essays prompts? Are you tired of the same old PowerPoint lecture? If one or both of these are the case, how about creating a digital story? Digital storytelling is great way to present a new topic or to enhance flipped classroom videos. It also makes a great student project that can incorporate the new literacy standards related to Common Core.
In this session, you'll learn the ends and outs of making a digital story. This session will focus on the do's and don'ts of digital storytelling, and list of tools to create a digital story. Student examples will be shown. Attendees will leave with a general workflow that they can apply to their own stories or those of their students. Digital storytelling can also help with helping students achieve the literacy standards of the Common Core and the Indiana Standards.
